Still

Situation or action is continuing.

Ex:

It's 10 o'clock and Joe is still in bed

Any more (No longer)

a situation has changed

配置は End of sentence。

Ex:

Lucy doesn't work here any more. She left last month

Yet

End of sentence

Ex:

Have you met your new neighbours yet?

Already

something happend sooner than expected.

配置はMiddle of sentence。

Ex:

"What time is Sue is leaving?"

"She has already left."

Even

something is unusual or suprising/

配置はMiddle of sentence。

Ex1:

He always wears a coat , even in hot weather.

Ex2:

I can't cook. I can't even boil an egg.

Ex3: with comparative

I got up very early. but Jack got up even earlier

Ex4: Even If

We're going even if it's raining.

Ex5: Even when

He never shouts, even when he's angry

Ex6: Even though

Even thought she can't drive , she bought a car.

Although / Though / Even Though

Although  + subjet + Verb

Ex1:

Although it rained a lot , We enjoyed our holiday.

Ex2:

I didn't get a job though I had the nessesary qualifications.

Ex3:

Even though I was really tired, I couldn't sleep

In spite of / Despite

Though

上記2つの後ろはnoun(名詞) OR pronoun(代名詞)

Ex1:

In spite of rain, we enjoyed our holiday.

Ex2:

She wasn't well , but despite this she continued working.

In case / In case of

Why somebody does something.

In case ofは If there isと同じ意味。

In case

Ex1:

We'll buy some more food in case Tome comes.

Ex2:

I left my phone switched on in case Jane called.

Ex3: In case of

In case of emergency, call this number.

Unless

except it.

Ex:

I'll see you tomorrow unless I have to work late

As long as / So long as / Provided / Providing

 if or on condition that

Ex:

You can borrow my car as long as you promise not to drive too fast.

As

Ex1: at the same time

We all waved goodbye to Liz as the drove away.

Ex2: something happend as you wer doing

Kate sliped as she was getting off the bus.

Ex3: two things happen together in a longer period

As the day went on , the weather got worse.

Ex4: because

As I was hungry , I decided to find somewhere to eat.

Ex5: In the same way or condition

You should have done it as I showed you.

Ex6: As you know

As you know , It's Emma's birthday next week.

Ex7: preposition

As a taxi driver , I spend most of my life in a car

Like

Ex1:

"What's that noise?" "It sounds like a baby crying"

Ex2: In the same way or condition

You should have done like this.

Ex3: looks like

Sarah is very late. It looked like she isn't coming.

Ex4: sounds like

The noise is very loud next door. It sounds like thery're having a party.

As if / As though

Ex1:

That house looks as if it's going to fall down.

Ex2:

They looked at me as though I was mad.

For

How long something goes on.

Ex:

We watched TV for tow hours last night.

During

Forと似たような意味ではあるけれど、time words(the morning,the summerなど)と一緒に使ったりする。

Ex1:

I fell asleep during the movie.

Ex2:

I'll phone you sometime during the afternoon.

While

Ex:

I fell asleep while I was watching TV.
